Community Collaborators

Creative Geelong Makers Hub has welcomed a range of organisations who have moved into Centrepoint Arcade to collaborate with us and deliver services to the community. The organisations below have a commitment to shared values of including everyone, the future of work and activating the CBD to be a vibrant and safe space for Geelong.

The genU GAMER program is designed to aid young people that experience difficutlies with social interaction, depression, anxiety and high-functioning autism. Through video and role-playing games, participants can discover how to break free of isolation and discover new ways to learn and leverage social skills in a safe and inclusive environment. Most importantly, it’s all about sharing awesome game experiences.

Suited for the Job is a service delivered to job seekers who are referred to us by local agencies and community organisations. We offer individuals professional clothing through a styling session. Our supportive partner agencies are available to provide career coaching, interview and resume writing skills.  Our showroom provides the ideal location to help build jobseekers a work-ready wardrobe and confidence on their journey.

The core business of Barwon Adolescent TaskForce (BATForce) is a stake in the provision of services with and for young people. Our partner organisations focus on young people of all ages 10 to 25 and from all socio-economic, cultural and geographical areas within the Barwon region. BATForce’s education arm provides education to schools, agencies, young people and community based agencies/organisations in how to support young people to thrive in their communities.

Good Cycles is a social enterprise using bikes and city services to provide employment pathways for disadvantaged young people.  We’re establishing a community bike shop in Geelong and running programs that use bike mechanics to develop employment skills and provide work experience for at-risk young people.  Our space at Centrepoint Arcade is a base for our services, but also a valuable resource for the community.
